Boljoon Church

Nuestra Señora del Patrocinio de Maria Parish Church (Our Lady of Patronage of Mary Parish Church in English), which is locally known as Boljoon Church, is the most important landmark of Boljoon town. The municipality became a chapel of ease of Carcar in 1599 and only became an independent vicariate in October 1690. The convent was abandoned due to a lack of priests in 1737 and was handed over to Jesuits. Ten years later, it was returned to the administration of Augustinians in exchange for Liloan, Cotcot, and Maraling.
